Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently
searching for a System Ops Lead to join the Cloud Services Team. In this role, you
will be part of the Cloud Operations team responsible for ensuring seamless delivery
and security of cloud services for clients by configuring, maintaining, upgrading, and
troubleshooting systems.
What You’ll Do
You will be the primary point of contact for escalations in India, both
technical and non-technical. Your responsibilities will include the
maintenance and administration of Applied Cloud services,
encompassing backup, restoration, tools management, software
updates, installations, problem investigation, resolution, and escalation.
You will liaise with Development, Support, and Implementation teams to
ensure the best possible experience for our clients. Additionally, you will
manage and maintain SLAs and OLAs, conduct reviews, and drive
continuous improvements.
You will create and maintain policy and procedural documentation, and
work closely with other Cloud Services groups to resolve issues and
assist with configuration changes and testing. Your role will also involve
performing SQL activities such as database backups, restores, and
running scripts.
Other duties will be assigned by your immediate manager or the
management team. You will also manage the shift roster and align the
team with daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly activities.
What You’ll Need to Succeed

Can work remotely or from an Applied Systems office
The available shift for this role is for 10 hours:
oSaturday to Tuesday – 8am to 6pm
Your experience should include some or all of the following:
10+ years of technical support experience in a Windows domain and SQL
environment, including troubleshooting simple to complex issues
1. System Administration:
Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Windows
servers and workstations.
Ensure the smooth operation of SQL Server databases, including
performance tuning and optimization.
Manage SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) for database
administration tasks.
2. Database Management:
Design, implement, and maintain database systems to support
insurance software applications.
Perform regular backups, restores, and disaster recovery planning.
Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues.
3. Technical Support:
Provide advanced technical support for Windows, SQL, and SSMS-
related issues.
Assist in resolving complex technical problems and provide guidance to
junior team members.
Coordinate with software vendors for support and troubleshooting.
4. Security and Compliance:
Implement and enforce security policies to protect sensitive insurance
data.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
5. Project Management:
Lead IT projects related to system upgrades, migrations, and new
implementations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
Develop and maintain project documentation and timelines.
6. Performance Monitoring and Optimization:
Monitor system and database performance to identify and resolve
bottlenecks.
Implement performance tuning techniques for both Windows servers
and SQL databases.
Regularly review and optimize system configurations.
7. Team Leadership:
Mentor and guide team members, providing training and development
opportunities.
Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively.
Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
8. Incident and Problem Management:
Manage and resolve incidents and problems related to IT operations.
Develop and implement incident response plans.
Analyze root causes and implement preventive measures.
9. Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain comprehensive documentation of systems, processes, and
procedures.
Generate regular reports on system performance, incidents, and
project status.
Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant
stakeholders.
10.Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best
practices.
Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the
team.
