Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for Associate Business Development Representative.  This is our core role on the Business Development Group (BDG) Team and as such will need to be highly responsive to all our inbound lead sources - and highly active creating outbound leads.  To facilitate this level of activity you must have excellent time management skills and a basic understanding of the business development role with previous sales experience being ideal.  Your goal is to have highly engaging conversations with potential clients to share the value of our Applied solutions and facilitate a future meeting with an Inside Sales Consultant to further their interest.  Your investigation and research of each lead will promote deeper understanding of our prospects and their needs while also providing the context for each lead that you create to assist the sales teams in progressing their sales engagements.  As a part of the BDG Team you will also engage and learn with your peers on a daily basis, and continually share best practices within the team to help achieve our goals. Success on our business development team also hinges on a bias to bold action and productive collaboration with the sales and marketing teams. It is a strong building block for a long-term career in technology sales. This effort will be a two-way street, where we will invest time and resources in your success. In turn, your success will enable the business development organization to accomplish its mission: Take Applied to $1B in ARR and beyond by building, driving, and accelerating quality pipeline and talent.   • Associate Business Development Representatives will enjoy a base + bonus compensation structure.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • At least 1 year of cold calling or lead generation experience; will consider entry-level graduates with strong internship / related experience 
  • Desire to advance career from business development to an Inside Sales role.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, especially over the phone
  • High energy, self-motivated individual that can thrive in a fun, fast-paced environment.
  • Previous sales or marketing experience desired
  • Experience with SalesForce is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, or marketing; or equivalent work experience
