    Job Summary
    Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a Business Analyst to work on the Product Management team responsible for strategic analysis, product vision, and tactical execution of product releases. Your focus will be on defining, analyzing, and documenting requirements for product initiatives and conducting market research.  You will collaborate with Product Managers to establish product release vision, and then define, analyze and document requirements for the product initiatives. These requirements are then broken down by the Business Analyst and the associated Product Owners into groups of user stories that explain the goals of the story/feature(s) to the Development team.   You will strive to deliver high-quality software products on time to market, in alignment with strategic goals while meeting the needs of our clients.


    Additional responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with Product Managers to establish product release vision including alignment to technical strategy, breaking down release-level themes/initiatives into features and user stories
    • Communicate release level business needs to teams and stakeholders; sets appropriate acceptance criteria to meet business needs for minimum viable to market
    • Work with clients and stakeholders to gather requirements and their business needs. Then translate that information into documentation
    • Plan, monitor, and analyze the requirements throughout the roadmap and release planning, ensuring development teams can be continually fed
    • Work with peer Business Analysts, Product Managers and Technical Leaders regarding cross-team dependencies; remain consistently mindful of improving portfolio interests, not just product interests
    • Support a continuous feedback loop from Customer to Product Manager to Product Owner & scrum team
    • Work with Product Management to build business cases, conduct market research and analysis of third party vendors when needed
    • Build and maintain storyboards for utilization in communication to various internal and external stakeholders
    • Take the hand-off of requirements building throughout the year as an iterative process, documenting in the product management and development management systems throughout

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in the Computer Science, MIS, CIS, or Business Administration
    • 2+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Product Owner, or related role
    • Applied Epic exposure preferred
    • Technical experience or training in programming, QA, Agile, or the SDLC a plus
    • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, manage, and prioritize multiple projects
    • Excellent written and verbal communication, including technical writing skills
    • Ability to conduct cost/benefit analysis
    • Experience with business case development and modeling techniques and methods
    • Demonstrated ability to think both strategically and tactically
    • Ability to communicate at all business levels
    • Proven ability to be a good listener and make clear decisions
