    Job Summary
    Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a Professional Services Project Manager to be responsible for the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and successful completion of multiple system implementation projects.  Working with our top tier clients, you will manage the execution of all implementation service needs, utilizing a methodical approach to planning and guiding project processes from start to finish.  You will be relied upon to create and execute both internal and client communication strategies, driving overall customer relationships by pro-active involvement and ongoing contact.  You can live anywhere in the country (ideally near a major airport) for this position, as you will work from home when not travelling.

     

    Additional responsibilities include:

    • Manage a comprehensive Implementation Project Plan
    • Implement and maintains project schedule, project documents, and meeting notes
    • Provide integrated change control via an established change request process
    • Provide comprehensive and on-going risk management
    • Work with management to determine resource needs and availability ; negotiate with these functional managers to resolve outstanding project-related issues
    • Perform appropriate and timely follow-up with both the customers and internal areas to ensure project plan is progressing as scheduled; conduct meetings when necessary
    • Provide recommendations and communications for mid-course adjustments; act as the primary negotiator for conflict resolution
    • Maintain all time keeping records that will be used in client billing and makes available to appropriate internal sources at agreed upon intervals
    • Conduct formalized post implementation customer satisfaction review
    • Utilize generally accepted/recognized project management methodology and practices
    • Assist management in mentoring new Project Managers to the organization, as requested
    • Attend conventions, summits or user group meetings as requested

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred (in Business, Project Management, Insurance, or Organizational Behavior)
    • 5-10 years of experience in external client-facing project management
    • Strong leadership skills; able to develop and motivate a project team
    • Outstanding customer relationship management skills
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; solid speaking, facilitation, and presentation skills
    • Highly skilled in the art of negotiation
    • Highly organized; can handle multiple projects concurrently; demonstrated proficiency in Planning, Needs Assessment, and Project Management
    • Available for 25-50% travel
    • PMP or CAPM certification highly preferred
    • Supervisory experience helpful
