    Job Summary
    Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a Sr. Systems Engineer to join our internal Corporate IT Infrastructure Operations team.  In this role, you will be part of a group of engineers responsible for building and supporting the server and storage infrastructure platforms as well as all production Microsoft back-office systems.  This includes installing, configuring, and administering Windows Server, Exchange, SharePoint, IIS, and SQL Server.  The ability to self-manage, prioritize, and multitask are essential, as you will balance functions related to both project delivery and support/administration,

    Additional responsibilities include:

    • Responsible for identifying, prioritizing, and confirming problem resolutions with Infrastructure technologies, escalating complex problems as necessary
    • Ensure that operational processes are consistently followed in order to support the organization’s SLA requirements and meet/exceed customer expectations
    • Build and maintain in-depth technical and product knowledge that is leveraged to design, implement, and support solutions with complex interdependencies
    • Assist the End User Services team in responding to tickets and requests
    • Focus on the constant improvement of in-place processes, and the development of industry standard processes in areas where no process exists
    • Create, maintain, and report monthly metrics for Infrastructure environments
    • Perform on-call duties on a rotation basis
    • Assist with office move, integration of newly acquired companies, and marketing events on an as-needed basis
    • Maintain a thorough understanding of incident, problem, change, configuration, and asset management principles and able to apply best practices



    • Bachelor’s Degree in Technology/related field or equivalent work experience
    • 7+ years of experience designing, building, and supporting enterprise infrastructure and systems, including experience in a multi-site environment; international exposure ideal
    • Experience with solution delivery from design through post project support
    • Technical skills:
      • Windows Server (up to current version), Active Directory, Exchange, Skype for Business, and IIS
      • VMWare ESX and virtualization technologies
      • Hands on experience managing enterprise storage technologies—including data backup solutions
      • Working knowledge of SQL Server
      • PowerShell, Bash, and/or other scripting languages
      • Windows Clustering including application clustering
      • Networking (working knowledge)
    • MCSE or MCSA certification preferred
    • Keen attention to detail with strong analytical and problem solving abilities
    • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks under stress
    • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to present technical ideas or topics in an understandable manner to all levels of the organization
    • Self-motivated with the ability to quickly learn new products
    • Available for up to 25% travel
