    Job Summary

    Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for an Associate Performance Test Engineer to join our Quality Assurance team.  In this role, you will be responsible for debugging, measuring, analyzing, and improving the overall performance of Applied Systems software products.  You must possess a technical understanding of software, hardware, database, networking, and internet connectivity, and must understand what it means to take a holistic view of complex systems.  You will handle for load testing, stress testing, scalability testing, and endurance testing our software products. 

     

    Additional responsibilities include:

    • Coordinate and manage large scale projects involving automated performance testing, including project estimation, project planning, resource planning, project budget control and successful completion
    • Work closely with product development teams to execute application, system and infrastructure tuning and performance enhancements
    • Complete performance test planning, setup, and execution
    • Handle test scripting and test data management
    • Manage capacity estimating, modeling, or planning

     

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or CIS; or equivalent work experience
    • Professional work experience OR academic experience (i.e. projects, internships) using C#, VB.Net, Java, or C/C++
    • Experience or training in SQL scripting (SQL Server or MySQL preferred)
    • Knowledge or exposure to QA testing tools such as HP LoadRunner, JMeter, JProfiler, JConsole, etc. a plus
    • Basic understanding of QA performance testing preferred
    • Ability to distill volumes of data, analyze performance results, and diagnose performance problems
    • Excellent problem solving skills; strong logical reasoning and solution oriented
    • Strong communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work with others in a team-oriented environment
    • Experience or training with Agile Scrum methodology is a plus
