    Job Summary
    Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a Jr. Software Release Coordinator to join our Quality Assurance team.  In this role, you will be responsible for working within the suite of Applied’s software products, managing the development cycles and software releases.  You will be relied up as the point-person in QA to coordinate with the Scrum teams, Customer Support, Enterprise Services, Product Management, and other departments to ensure processes are followed prior to the software release of a maintenance update or hotfix.

    Additional responsibilities include:

    • Work closely with Product Owners to ensure most urgent requests for maintenance updates and hotfixes are being worked on by Scrum teams
    • Create and maintain metrics to help track a product’s quality and progression during and after development
    • Gather lessons learned for future releases and incorporate improvements
    • Assemble the weekly Development Status Report and other related slide shows
    • Monitor how defects are being entered into CSS and Rally and ensure processes are being followed
    • Enforce production release processes and escalate instances where process violations occur
    • Negotiate, plan, and manage all Maintenance Update release activities
    • Assess and manage risks involving issues that affect release scope, schedule, and quality
    • Work with ALM Services to manage and understand impacts of code branch organization and changes
    • Maintain a release repository and manage key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies (internal and third party), operating system updates, and notification lists


    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field; or equivalent work experience
    • Experience with the Microsoft Office programs; emphasis with Excel pivot tables and PowerPoint
    • Experience or training creating SQL queries a plus; experience with SQL Server or MySQL databases preferred
    • Technical knowledge of release management competencies/tools
    • Familiarity with Microsoft formats and tools – Visual Studio / TFS / MTM helpful
    • Strong communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
    • Strong collaboration skills
    • Solid time management, planning, and prioritization skills
    • Project and goal oriented with strong attention to detail and organizational skills
    • Approachable, possess a positive attitude, and be readily accepting of change
    • Ability to work on your own, with minimal supervision, once projects are defined;  independent worker, reliable, self-starter
    • Understand and perform risk mitigation to meet deadlines
    • Experience or training in insurance agency/broker operations helpful
