    Job Summary
    Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a Software Documentation Specialist to join our Product Services team, which is responsible for content strategy, development, and delivery for our suite of broker management software solutions.  In this role, you will develop and maintain content for all of Applied’s products, including user guides, help files, installation documentation and configuration guidelines. You will liaise closely with our network of internal subject matter experts to build the requirements and develop content which ensures adoption and ongoing utilization of our product by our clients.


    Additional responsibilities include:

    • Use content tools to manage (publish, update) content for all Applied Products help files and product documentation
    • Work with cross-department team to ensure all content is up-to-date, engaging, relevant, and appropriate
    • Leverage relationship with internal subject matters to gain insight into industry trends to ensure content coincides with the marketplace
    • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of Applied Systems’ products, company directives, insurance industry trends, and technical communication

     

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Communications, English, or related field; or equivalent work experience
    • 1-5 years of content development experience; may consider new grads with strong internship/experiential learning
    • Working knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office & Adobe Creative Suite; exposure to Help Authoring tools such as, Adobe RoboHelp or Madcap Flare, are helpful but not required
    • Working knowledge in how translate software processes (complex subjects) into comprehensive requirements that are easily understood
    • Working knowledge of HTML or JavaScript a plus
    • Superior communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
    • Excellent time management skills; able to manage concurrent projects on varying size and complexity
    • Ability to organize and oversee projects from initial concept through completion and launch
