    Job Summary
    Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a Sr. Vice President of Services. Reporting to the EVP of Customer Experience, the Sr. Vice President of Services will have P&L responsibility for all aspects of our Services organization across the US, Canada, UK, and Ireland.  This includes leading and managing services revenue of approximately $45m and a team of 300+ professionals comprised of the following:

    • Enterprise Services, focused on large, “corporate” accounts
    • Primary Services, targeted at the small to mid-size market
    • Education Services, including Applied University, Applied’s virtual education platform
    • Technical Services, including data migration, field engineering, and infrastructure
    • Applied Insured Services, focused on tools for insureds including CSR24 and Mobile
    • Services Operations

    Services at Applied is a blend of billable and non-billable implementation and consulting delivery.  As such, a key expectation of this role is establishing the right balance between cost-effective execution and optimal customer experience, ultimately driving recurring (cloud) revenue and customer satisfaction and retention.

     

    Additional key responsibilities include:

    • Track and manage key operational services metrics including billable utilization, backlog, burn rate, margin/project-level profitability, monthly forecasting, and quality
    • Act as an executive sponsor for strategic customers, including partnering with Sales on account strategy and overall customer health
    • Lead and expand the Applied Services methodology, with a focus on consistent, repeatable processes aimed at driving product adoption and utilization
    • Collaborate with Sales, Finance, and Product Management to define and position services packages and pricing for streamlined selling and overall operational efficiency
    • Collaborate with Product Management and Development to define and execute the product roadmap for our data migration tools as well as product functionality targeted at easing the migration to Applied’s product portfolio
    • Define, launch, and expand an ecosystem of services/consulting partners with a goal of driving Applied product adoption through a flexible, scalable non-direct workforce
    • Collaborate with Sales, Support and Cloud Services to define clear workflows and handoffs, both internal and external to Applied

     

    Requirements:

    • 10+ years’ experience in the software industry, with at least 5 years of leading a Services P&L; global exposure a must
    • Collaborative, dynamic leader able to drive change while leveraging experienced staff in an established company; ability to manage through influence in a matrixed environment
    • Proven track record for driving revenue and delivering financial results in line with business objectives; strong financial, business, and technical acumen
    • Bachelor’s degree required/Master’s degree preferred
    • Ability to work directly with customers as they complete their implementation journey; experience in customer engagement at the C-level is critical
    • Deep process orientation, with an eye toward driving optimal customer experience
    • Exceptional communication skills – both written & verbal
    • Creative problem-solver with a roll-up-your-sleeves approach to leadership
    • Understanding of and exposure to the insurance industry (agency, brokerage, or carrier) a plus
