    Job Summary
    Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for an Entry-Level IT Associate to join our Data Center Operations team.   In this role, you will work as part of our Level 1 Systems Operations group, which plays a key role in ensuring our customers’ data is properly uploaded, backed-up, and safely maintained.  You will be responsible for will remotely monitoring our offsite, international data center systems/servers by entering performance values, reviewing logs, and inspecting systems for proper levels of responsiveness/usability.  Acting as the first line of defense for issues with customer data, you will be relied upon to troubleshoot, repair, and report problems as they arise.  You will also be involved with troubleshooting basic network /internet connectivity, completing various application and system maintenance activities, and handling occasional after-hours customer support calls.  You must be available to work on a monthly rotating shift that includes some evening, weekend, and overnight hours.


    Additional responsibilities include:

    • Backup and restore customer data; create and organize customer data resources
    • Monitor corporate facilities via CCTV and physical checks
    • Work in conjunction with other IT Associates in relation to communicating tasks completed/issues noted when changing shifts
    • Document all policies, practices, and procedures related to the position
    • Develop and document new policies, practices, and procedures as needed
    • Assist Data Center Operations staff as necessary



    • Pursuing/completed degree in CIS, IT, or related field; or equivalent work experience
    • Excellent communication skills; self-motivated; high attention to detail
    • Experience with MS Windows, including configuration and set-up
    • Experience supporting Microsoft Office applications, including solid experience with Excel
    • Basic network, PC hardware, and software troubleshooting skills
    • Experience (academic or professional) with the following technologies a plus:
      • Microsoft Server 2003/2008
      • SQL databases/scripting
    • Desire to learn and build a career in Information Technology
    • Available to work on a 24/7 monthly rotating shift
    • Position requires minimal travel on project basis only
