    Job Summary
    Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a Quality Analyst to join our team responsible for developing new products.  Applying the latest software development tools and testing technologies, the Quality Analyst will ensure project deliverables meet the high quality standards our clients expect.  Our technologies vary depending on the product we are building so you will gain exposure and experience on a wide range of technologies from project to project.  As a member of a small, collaborative development team you will have the opportunity to contribute in other areas such as design, planning, sizing, build automation, test automation, and research. 

     

    Additional responsibilities include:

    • Define, develop and execute test plans based on user needs and agreed upon acceptability criteria
    • Assisting developers by creating test harnesses and unit tests
    • Communicate and manage defects clearly and concisely using defect tracking tools
    • Triage, Investigate and diagnose issues reported by our users
    • Design, build and maintain automated regression testing solution using an array of popular testing frameworks and tools

     

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in computer science, technology, or a related field
    • Strong attention to details; the ability to identify discrepancies between actual and expected results
    • Perform appropriate testing methods (Black Box, White Box, Functional, Negative, Regression, Usability, Performance etc.) as applicable to the project deliverables
    • Experience with JSON and XML standards and transformation and schema tools
    • Experience with SQL, Database management, and data stores.
    • Experience in popular programming languages such as C# and Java as well as a proven ability to learn new procedural, functional and object oriented languages.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
    • Excellent self-management skills; a passion for meeting goals and deadlines
    • The ability to work well in a team environment
    • Strong follow through and organizational skills
    • Working knowledge of the testing framework, Selenium (asset)
    • Experience setting up build and Server application environments (asset)
    • 1+ years of professional experience in web development and/or insurance related field (asset)
    • Good knowledge of the Rating Services suite of products and related underwriting processes (asset)
    • Insurance related experience (asset)
    • Bilingualism - English and French (asset)
