Job Summary
Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a Manager, Cloud Operations to join our Data Center Operations team, which provides online hosting for 90,000+ users accessing our cloud-based software solutions.  In this role, you will oversee both the Level I and Level II System Operations teams (3 direct reports, 25 indirect reports) that handle which handle basic to advanced technical maintenance, troubleshooting, and user administration tasks for multiple data centers across North America and the United Kingdom.  You will be relied upon to liaise with various teams across the organization, ensuring alignment between product releases/updates/etc. and related administrative System Operations tasks.  This role is highly focused on process and people management, with no hands-on infrastructure work.  Your efforts will be critical in ensuring our customers’ data is properly accessible and safely maintained. 

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Working with Systems Operations Team Mangers to build highly effective, repeatable processes and workflows to ensure effective and secure handling of Cloud customer data, and maintain the stability of the production Cloud systems. 
  • Provide guidance and oversight in resource scheduling, change control, issue management, and root cause analysis, as well as participates in cross functional readiness teams for product features, releases, and roadmaps
  • Collaborate with Development, Product Management, Quality Assurance, Marketing, and other teams to ensure the data center platform remains aligned with and prepared to support new product releases



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Project Management, or related field; or equivalent experience
  • 3-5+ years of experience in IT operations management in a Microsoft Windows Server environment, ideally overseeing a minimum of 15 direct and indirect reports
  • May also consider individuals with experience as a Project Manager in the IT/Hardware space
  • Experience with IT process controls such as COBIT, ITIL or ISO
  • General knowledge of IT technologies. Including intermedia Microsoft Office Suite skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with excellent, demonstrated process management skills; project and goal oriented
  • Personable, approachable, and readily accepting of change; able to work cohesively with a variety of unique individuals/roles within the organization
  • Exposure to Applied products ideal but not required
  • Minimal travel required, <10%
